Jordi Reed was born in Texas and has lived in the Desert since 1993. It was in his 20s that Jordi discovered his passion for woodwork, and he sought out local cabinet companies — both large and small — to hone his craft, from production to installation and finally, customer service management. Jordi opened JCW in 2012.
While skilled in Computer Numerical Control (CNC), the robotic repetitive mass producing machinery, Jordi has always strived to exceed industry standards in his craftsmanship and employ Old-World techniques throughout the his crafting process, whether building a tongue-and-groove vaulted wood ceiling, a granite-clad sunken bar, an air-conditioned wine vault, or a simple bedroom dresser. Techniques like high-precision 3/4"-dado joinery to increase the back of the piece where strength is needed. Put simply, Jordi takes the time and care to do the job right.
Jordi is a California-licensed Cabinetry, Millwork and Finish Cabinetry contractor and is properly bonded and insured.
Born and raised in the Coachella Valley, George was exposed to woodworking in high school, and knew then he had found what he wanted to do in life. George has 24 years' experience as a custom cabinet and furniture maker, from installer to production, to shop foreman and management. Knowledgeable in all aspects of custom woodworking development, George prides himself in job costing, keeping scheduling on track, and anticipating client requirements.
Sheila Bourke Reed came to this beautiful desert as a "Snow Bird" from the Chicagoland area. Her background in business started at Saint Mary's College, Notre Dame, Indiana, with a Bachelor's Degree in Business concentrating on Economics. After college, she worked in sales in the Midwest then decided to move to the Coachella Valley, where she gravitated to the financial industry. With several years at Merrill Lynch, Insurance and Real Estate — all in Southern California — she is well versed in the needs of JCW's detail-oriented and discriminating clientele.
Sheila met Jordi in 2000, and they were married in 2014, demonstrating that it is never too late once you find the right mate.
